My personal favorite lyric on the new album is, “You’ll never find out until your body’s been broken on the canvas, If you belong with the ghosts and the has beens, or if you live on like a little piece of greatness.” AJ Babcock wrote that, and I think it just sums up the plight of the artist so well. Any artist, not just musicians. You have no choice but to pour every ounce of yourself into your art. It’s the only way to try to express what is in your depths, and a lot of times people get there and they’re scared of what they find. I know that has happened to me. But if you can embrace who you really are, the good, the bad and the ugly, then you can create something that resonates with people forever, not just for a feel good, fleeting moment. -Tim
