Well guys. We’re doing it.
After a year of figuring out our next move as a band, and weighing the pros and cons of about a thousand different directions, we’ve decided to take the “crowdfunding” plunge. And it’s pretty darn exciting!

We have had an internal debate as a band regarding sites like Kickstarter, IndieGoGo, Pledge Music, etc. and it’s honestly been a tough decision to journey down this road. I can only speak for myself, but my pride got in the way of seeing the good that comes from crowdfunding. I wanted to be able to say that we did this without asking for help. I thought it felt like a cop-out, like money for nothing. The truth is, a lot (not all, and that is fine) of you actually WANT to help! You’ve expressed your desire to us that you’d like to come on board and help us fund this next project. I’d like to hope that we’ve earned a bit of your trust throughout the years of putting out music. It seems like y’all really enjoy what we do and we’d like to give you the opportunity to trust us for this go-around.
A concept album. This is where it gets really exciting for us. The End is Not the End, and Suburba could technically be considered concept albums. But they only earned that title after they were finished and we looked at the totality of what we had. This one will be different. This will be a concept album in the truest sense of the term. We’re already brainstorming ideas for the story behind this album, and it’s already begun to influence exciting musical ideas. If we were still working with a label, I think we’d be nervous and a bit frightened to journey into this territory of full on concept album. That’s nothing against labels, it’s just that they are businesses, and radio and album sales still matter when you are making a big investment in a band’s record. This is what makes the independent nature of this so exciting! Artistically, the story will dictate the music. It has to. And that’s the adventure. If the story calls for a song with 3 different sections, and no real chorus, then that’s what the song will be. If the story calls for a fast punk rock song, then punk rock it is. If the story calls for strings, then strings. If the story calls for brass, then brass. This will be an extremely fun and challenging record to live inside of, and we have confidence and hope that we will emerge with greatness.
Thanks to everyone who has journeyed with us so far. In a lot of ways, we are really hoping that this is just the beginning.
God bless you.
